Where Do We Live?

Ever since our community walk, when we identified and took photos of the buildings where the children live as well as the library, Early Years Centre, etc., we have been talking about our neighbourhood and our city. The children have created murals of Toronto through painting and drawing, have drawn themselves and their families in their apartment doorways and have drawn pictures of themselves to place underneath the photos of their apartments, have read books about cities and apartments, and have made 3D cities out of lego and other blocks - a wonderful way to explore 3D shapes in a meaningful way. Our inquiry is ongoing - this week we printed out big colour photos of the buildings, and the children still love examining them and talking about where they live!
