We have a fridge in the classroom where we keep snack throughout the week. We have carrots, cucumbers, apples, yogurt, samosa, crackers, chocolate milk and cheese strings. Snack is available to the children throughout the day.
Can I still send a snack for my child?
Yes. We recomend you put it in a separate container from their lunch. This makes it easier for your child to tell what is lunch and what is snack.
Can I come to both "Family Friday" each month?
Yes. Please do!
Can my child take out more books for the Borrow-A-Book program?
Children may take a borrow book home Monday - Thursday. If your child is not exchanging their borrow-a-book, let us know and we will remind them to change it.
Does my child have to take out their 'Just Right Reading' level book each time?
No. If your child finds a higher level book that interests them, please read it to them if it's too hard for them to read.
Will children get a Poem Book?
No. This year, I have decided to select some of our poems and songs from the classroom and attach them to the monthly newsletters.
Can I volunteer in my child's classroom?
If you want to be a volunteer at the school, you have to go and speak with the office. Often, you will volunteer in a different classroom from your child.
However, you can volunteer your time with us on our Valley Walks and Field Trips.
My child is not eating all of their lunch. Can you make sure he/she eats everything?
Our lunchroom supervisor is in the classroom during the lunch hour. She can encourage children to eat their lunch, but she will not make them eat if they don't want to. If you want them to eat everything, consider taking your child home for lunch.
Is there homework in Kindergarten?
No. Instead we have the Borrow-A-Book program.
