-we hunt for letter-sounds
-we talk about upper and lower case letters (Bb)
-we make a list of similar sounding words (cake/bake/snake)
-we locate simple sight words (to, the, is, my)

Grandma & Grandpa

(high voice)

These are Grandma's glasses.   
This is Grandma's hat.  
And this is the way she folds her hands  
And lays them in her lap.  

(deep low voice)

These are Grandpa's glasses.

And this is the way he folds his arms  

And takes a little nap. 

Pet Snowball

I made myself a snowball

Just as perfect as could be.

I thought I'd keep it as a pet

And let it sleep with me

I gave it some pajamas

And a pillow for its head.

Then, last night it ran away,

But first . . . .it wet the bed!

Colour Poem
Orange is a carrot.
Yellow is a pear.
Green is the grass.
Brown is a bear.
Purple is a plum.
Blue is the sky.
Black is a funny hat.
Red is the cherry pie.
